The Sadies will be headlining an outdoor concert in the evening of Canada Day at James Donaldson Park on Highway 3 in Grand Forks, BC with The Ford Pier Vengeance Trio, Fish & Bird, and Stone Crow.Gates open at 6:30PM July 1st, 2011. Tickets $15 in advance at The Source on Market Ave. Grand Forks, Packrat Annie's in Nelson and Online on the 'Home' page, $20 on day of event.
Waterlow Audio is a local live sound production company with the goal of promoting high caliber touring bands in Grand Forks, and the sound, stage, and lighting equipment needed to put on a festival size event. They believe in using their skill and equipment for the benefit of the community, and while honing these skills they have been recognized for their professional quality production and hospitality by touring professionals.
The soulful Canadian Surf / Country / & Psych-Rock band The Sadies (Toronto, ON) consists of brothers Dallas & Travis Good, Sean Dean and Mike Belitsky.
Dallas and Travis Good
are the sons of Bruce Good, and nephews of Brian and Larry Good, who are
members of the well-known Canadian country group The Good Brothers.
After 16 years and eight albums (excluding their collaborations), The Sadies just keep getting better and better. They can still out-sing, out-pick and out-rock anyone out there, but there’s a new depth to their songwriting now. Country is just one element of an increasingly unique and distinctive Sadies sound that draws on a range of influences from garage, folk-rock and psychedelia, to Link Wray and Ennio Morricone. In addition to their own recordings, The Sadies often collaborate with other artists, such as Blue Rodeo, Jon Langford, Neil Young, Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, The Deep Dark Woods, Andre Williams, and are the preferred live backing band of singer Neko Case. In an age where art, music and culture are usually instantly disposable, The Sadies have accomplished that most rare of feats—they’ve created something timeless.

Ford Pier Vengeance Trio:
Having cut his teeth playing a variety of instruments in a host of bands in a panoply of styles throughout his youth, Ford Pier set his hand in earnest to writing and performing his own songs in the mid-1990's. His stated objective was to effectively fuse Black Flag and Richard Wagner in a pop song, but kept on thwarting his own design with a melodicism he was powerless to escape, and a deft lyricism which drew attention to itself. In a good way.

Fish & Bird:
Fish & Bird have been defying expectations for a long time. They formed in Victoria, BC in 2006 as an acoustic duo. On their 2007 self titled debut, their take on 'folk' included original songs in odd time signatures and traditional murder ballads with rock beats. 2009's Left Brain Blues was a more mature exploration of the space between folk traditions and reckless creativity. Now Fish & Bird are the five-piece indie-folk powerhouse, they have weird vocal improv sections, they rock out in 11/8, sometimes it seems like they're playing bluegrass, and they might make you cry.
